About the Author

Born in Baltimore in 1947, Nan enjoyed the blessing of a Christian home and parents who admitted when they failed, learned from their mistakes, celebrated everyone's victories, and welcomed those in need into their home for restoration. She saw Christian service in her sisters and had godly living modeled in a basic middle-class, creative environment.

Her marriage to Bill Carver in 1967 was life-changing, as she lived the life of a Navy wife for twenty years and raised their three boys--off and on, as a single mom, as Navy wives are used to doing. Her devotion to Bill and his calling as a Naval Officer and Christian school co-founder and Headmaster, and later as a part-time missionary to Africa through Watchmen International, has been her joy for nearly 60 years.

As an adult, Nan had the privilege of serving on a Crisis Pregnancy Center team in Charleston for ten years. She was a co-founder and Dean of Students at The Oaks Christian School in South Carolina for nine years. After moving to North Carolina, she became Dean of Elementary Students at a Christian school in Sanford, where she created and directed dramatic musicals and taught sixth-grade Bible.

Her love for Jesus and the people He died to save has been the driving force of her adult life. Her passion is expressed in country-girl style, and she invites her readers to discover the amazing Savior she found at the tender age of 12. She has experienced life's ups and downs and testifies to the grace and wisdom of God that have carried her through 80 years of life, with Him as her cheerleader.

In her first book, Nan Carver brings readers along on a journey of discovery into the "old yet fresh and new" well-used word, theology, which the saints of all ages have known and loved.
